Rabbit Air BioGS replacement HEPA filter for models SPA-421A & SPA-582A Review

This was my first time changing the filters since I bought the Rabbit Air BioGS (model 421A – 600 sq. ft.) Ultra-Quiet Air Purifier about two years ago. I should have changed them a long time ago.

I balked at spending so much for the HEPA filter, and I am still not thrilled about the cost, but there is no doubt it needed to be done. I had been cleaning the old filter with a vacuum and thought I had been doing a good job. The new filter was so clean, though, that it made the old one look like a dingy mess.

Everything fit fine. The packaging was great. And I have no complaints about the product. As another reviewer mentioned, it would be nice to have this bundled with the charcoal filter to save some money.

My vacuum takes style 7 bags, and these bags fit remarkably well in it. They can be a little difficult to put on because the hole is closed over with perforated paper. Once they are on, however, there aren’t any problems until it’s time to change the bag again. Very nice.

Delta Shelby Crib and Changer, Espresso Review

This was our first crib for our first child. Owned it for about 4 months now. I think for the price, this is really a great crib. We have a limited amount of room and this crib provides a good amount of extra space within the crib. The downsides to the storage space is that the slots in the back may be hard to get to if you are putting this against a wall. The drawer on the bottom is great but I have to agree with others that it is a bit flimsy. We use the changing table several times a day so that is def a big plus. On assembly, my only complaint is the ‘laundry’ drawer under the changing table which requires a drill of some sort to assemble (we are currently using the space as add’l storage and have not assembled the laundry drawer) Overall, if you are looking for an ‘all in one’ crib of good quality, reasonable price (Amazon.com has free shipping!), and something that looks nice – most people are surprised when we tell them how much we’ve paid – this is a good choice. *thumb up*

I purchased a set of Whiskey Stones for my brother who is a big single malt whiskey drinker. On occasion, I have used them myself.

They take a long time to get cold and you’ll need to leave them in the freezer for several hours before they reach their peak cold temperature.

The stones will not make your drink as cold as ice will and you may be initially disappointed by that if you are used to drinking your liquor with ice. However, they will keep your drink nice and cool for a surprisingly long time – longer than the duration that ice will typically melt to water. It can keep your drink cool for 45 minutes to an hour.

This definitely changes the flavor you experience, in a good way, as it keeps the drink consistently strong from beginning to end without watering down the drink. It makes nice, high quality liquors a pleasure to enjoy as each sip is as good and undiluted as the first one.

There are only a few minor issues with the Whiskey Stones. The box recommends 3 to 4 per drink, but that may not be enough depending on the volume that you pour. I’ve used up 7 in a 1 cup glass that is nearly full in order to feel the full effect of the stones.

Make sure to thoroughly wash them after use. Rinse with water and let it air dry. They dry surprisingly quickly! The stones are slightly porous and if they are not washed well they may contain traces of your previous drink and alter the taste of the new drink you add them to. Also, this isn’t really a fault of the product, but avoid sticking them near Cod or other strong smelling fish as they will leave a residual taste of it. You will need to very, very thoroughly wash them to get rid of the taste!

Mobi TykeLight Portable GloMate Review

My son loves it. We bought him one when he moved out of his crib and into a bed in another room. It was a big help in getting him over the fear of an unfamiliar room. As some others have noted, some of the settings are rather bright (green especially), but this works out well, b/c he likes to play in bed before falling asleep and the green setting gives him just enough light. The red setting is quite dim and more suitable for sleeping (although he doesn’t have any trouble sleeping through green). We have given several of these as gifts.

However, there are issues with quality/reliability. The charger base stopped working and I had to pay shipping charges to get a replacement from the manufacturer. They actually sent me one that wasn’t compatible, but it turned out that the plug was the problem and the replacement fit our base, so problem solved.

The glomate stopped working a short time after that (about a year after purchase). We bought a replacement. Then, the original started working again, so we had two! Then the replacement stopped working for a while before coming back on. Still, every once in a while, one or the other will stop working (the charger will show that it’s charging/charged, and sometimes the red light on the bottom will light up, but the glomate itself won’t illuminate). I have found that if I just leave it off the charger for a few days, then charge it back up, it will start working again.

So, it’s a great idea and your kid will probably love it, but be prepared to fight with it every once in a while and perhaps buy a back-up.

ThermaCELL Mosquito Repellent Review

I couldn’t enjoy my porch and front yard due to mosquito problems. I was getting bitten so much it was embarassing for me to wear short sleeves and dresses. I started spraying myself all over with Cutter or Off… only to get bitten in the one square inch of skin not covered in repellant.

I bought two ThermaCELL units. These things really work. I have enjoyed being outside and in peace. No bites. Let me reiterate– NO BITES.

I considered the Mosquito Magnet and similar units but was hesitant due to so many reviews siting maintenance and breakdown issues. The ThermaCELL covers a decent area for a tiny unit (15 feet square). It’s inexpensive enough that you can buy multiple units if you need to. It does warm up. I turn it on and either put it on the table or on the steps, and that’s it. No problems. Plus you can buy refills on Amazon with free shipping.

I only wish I had discovered the ThermaCELL earlier in the season. It’s great!!!
